Youngcombe Farm is about as far as you can get from the madding crowd and still be conveniently placed for local activities. If you are fond of walking there are spectacular cliff paths just a short drive away and a nearby footpath leads to Woolston and Salcombe.
Kingsbridge, with many interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and a twice weekly market, is a five minute drive away. Other facilities in the town include a supermarket, garage, cinema and an excellent leisure centre with a large indoor pool. Local buses run from Kingsbridge to Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes and Plymouth and villages in between. Kingsbridge is also the base for the Rivermaid ferry that sails daily to Salcombe between May and October and runs estuary cruises in the evenings.
Thurlestone, with beautiful coastal walks, great beaches and a golf course is seven minutes away by car.
The popular sailing centre of Salcombe is an eight minute drive away. Here you will find picturesque narrow streets overlooking the busy harbour, water sports, ferry boats to local beaches and the National Trust property Overbecks.
